What To Do If Your Computer Is Over Heating

When the computer heats up it is dangerous because it can overheat and you need to buy a new one, which are not always cheap. There are some ways to ensure this does not happen, and lengthen the life of the CPU (Central Processing Unit) and other devices inside the computer.

A major reason for computers overheating is the lack of airflow , using a laptop and have it in your leg or arm of the sofa, it's likely that fans of laptops are ultimately not receiving any fresh air into the laptop, since they are covering the ventilation openings. To ensure that this is not the case, place the laptop on a flat surface or on a laptop that has a grid like surface that allows air into the fan to cool the laptop down.

If you have a computer and it shows that the temperature of the CPU or motherboard is increasing, this maybe due to the room temperature becomeing warmer and that hot air is being sucked by the fan and not able to cool the laptop efficiently. Adding more fans would increase the airflow.

When checking the temperature, if you notice that the CPU is much higher than 40-60 ° C between the heat sink this may become a problem, this might be the wrong positioning of the heat sink or heat sink can loosen over time and lose contact with the CPU. In these cases, the best solution is to remove the heatsink and clean the CPU and put some new thermal compound on the CPU heatsink and turn around 180 degrees and put it back on make sure the CPU thermal compound is spread evenly over the top of the CPU .

When the back of the sink in place , safely restart the computer and check the CPU temperature to ensure this is correct, if not, then check if the fan on the heatsink is working properly, and if it is rotating at the correct speed. The new heat sink should only be necessary for the purchase, if there is damage to the original, can be installed in the same way as before.

If the problem persists, check if the thermometer is faulty, but in most cases, it is not, check if the cables which could impede the flow of air to the heat sink or a fan being obstructed .

In order to make sure the computer you are installing takes into account air flow, so when installing hard drives, DVD drives, make sure if possible air can flow between them and prevent overheating. If the units are very hot this increases the temperature and makes it harder to cool the computer.

Looking at the computer flow is almost as important as building a computer, if you do not allow easy flow of air inside the computer from overheating, and the capability to strike off the top. You may need to install more fans to provide air cold enough to reach your computer, but do not forget to install some of extraction fans that suck all the hot air out of the box.

Normally, with most cases, there will be a place in your computer case with a fan to be placed on the back which is usually the best place to install an exhaust fan and install a fan program introduction to the front of the computer case to blow cool air will be in this army of fresh air in the bottom of the cabinet, then the force of hot air to the rear of the case in a continuous cycle that keeps computer running at the ideal temperature.

Building Computer Basics: Graphics Cards

The energy consumption of individual components and how to choose a power supply that is more suitable to build a new computer is vital to the graphic card, and energy consumption varies greatly depending on what graphics card you pick. So in this post, we dig deeper into what graphics card is suitable for you.

First, if you look at the specifications of the card, try to focus on only four of them: the quantity of streams, the clock speed, memory and power consumption. Something that is really great about how ATI and NVIDIA is that they share the same label of the same system. The first digit of the model (for example, 9800 GT) shows that the generation that the card is. Today, AMD is the generation of 26, so the HD 6000 and NVIDIA series is version 15, they are labeling their card GTX 500. Also, avoid buying video cards that have four digits, if they do not start with Radeon HD. This means they are the previous generations and are an much old generation of cards.

The rate of the second digit the level of performance they are seeing the card (8 in the 9800 GT). Furthermore, the better the card is for this generation. So if you are looking for an 8 or 9, the card is pretty well the best that can be found in this generation. A 6 means that it is a card of the building performance for players, four is dominant, and all that is lower for versions of the economy. This number is also a shortcut to the number of stream processors of the card over other cards in their series, but is likely to be better and simpler to just stick to a single number.

The third number indicates whether the card is already overclocked or not (for example, the Radeon HD 5770). The number is usually zero, if the card has not been modified by overclocking.

The fourth number shows that the fourth generation card (similar to the first number). If there is a four-digit number on a NVIDIA graphics card, it means that you look on a card created in the first ten generations. If there are only three, it is newer than the (currently in the last 5 generations). If you look at an ATI (AMD) cards, ignore the fourth digit. This is pretty much hogwash. But with Radeon, Radeon # # # # cards are the first generation of Radeon X # # # # which is 11-19 and the Radeon HD # # # # is something newer than that.

Consider also the memory card. However, since the PCI-E 2.0 is now available, the memory is not as big as issue as it once was, but it does not mean that it is not important.I would suggest to get more than 512MB of memory for your graphic card.

Two more things ... trying to find the power consumption, as we've mentioned in previous messages. Knowing this will help you find what you need PSU, and will save you trouble down the road. Second, read the reviews on the card you are looking our for. These assessments are more (more like definitely)important than the actual specifications. Look around and see who else has the card and see what they think.

Oh, I forgot to mention. It may seem obvious to some people, but always try to get a card with a fan on it if you like the way the economy (most high-end cards come with one already). Those without a fan is just cheap and not worth getting.

Here are some graphics cards very worthy of note, you get the most bang for your buck out:

Radeon HD 5570 - $ 65 Radeon HD 5770/6770 - $ 130 Radeon HD 6870 - $ 195 GeForce GTX 570 - $ 330 GeForce GTX 580 - $ 450

All About Cloud Computing

Oh no. Just when you thought you got had gotten loads of confusing concepts in the computing world, here comes another one, which is perhaps the most obscure bits of each byte, or a buzzword in the world to come yet. It's called "cloud computing", and if your company has not yet adopted, it is very likely that not only will you be behind the curve to know what is available, but in reality, you may not be able to make use of some of the key advantages.

Cloud computing is the rage of today's business. Think of it as a computer nerd concept of the day. Unfortunately, as the public relations department, with the cloud,we all have a different definition of what it is about and the benefits it would give those who use it. Fortunately, in a very narrow sense, cloud computing is very much like what was once known as utility computing, or what others call the conventional outsourcing.

Cloud computing is known to users as a group of service providers, large and small, who provide services - storage capabilities to filter spam - for users without building additional infrastructure in its system. Instead, the IT department of a company is the focal point for service providers in a cloud individually, while with the integrator, who coordinate applications across the enterprise.

Cloud computing includes several key elements that make it particularly useful in IT systems across the company.

First, SaaS (Software as a Service), which provides applications via a browser to a virtually unlimited number of users in a user base. As with any application in the cloud, SaaS is not contained on a single computer, but is accessible across the enterprise to all users in an organization. SaaS provides users with access to the software without an upfront investment in servers or software licenses. In addition, only a single application is needed maintain the entire system.

The concept of utility computing, although it is not a new idea for computer users, allows the storage capacity that users are able to request and free up the enterprise system.

Web services are also available in cloud computing to deliver large-scale applications, to enterprise systems. Instead, applications on the Internet are able to run smoothly.

External developments have an important role in cloud computing environments to provide as externally from a corporate information system, in contrast to the standard development platforms. Instead of starting the development of a service outside the corporate information system.

Whatever the application, the flexibility and capabilities offered by cloud computing will be of huge benefit in the future.

10 Reasons to Upgrade Your Computer/Laptop

Computers these days can be compared with new cars - depreciate as soon as you walk through the door with them. Even if you decide to spring for the Tablet PC be rest assured that within six months it will be yesterday's news.

So how do you decide to keep what you have and try to improve it, or simply the difference and get a new computer or a laptop? A good rule of thumb is, if the cost of improving your computer exceeds the cost of a new, buy a new one. But here are some reasons why you should upgrade or replace the computer.

First Your needs are changing - the computer that you had as a student can not work when you enter a new career. Your laptop is a reflection of you and you may need to get a slimmer model, just to show that you are not late in the office.

2nd Career Change - If you leave your job to an editorial position in the graphic arts, you will probably need a computer with a good video card.

3. The new software - keep up with the latest software, you need speed, advanced graphics. Newer software does not work on older operating systems or can work less efficiently.

Fourth system crash, virus - Sometimes the most effective way to get rid of frequent crashes and viruses is to get a new computer.

5. Broken component damage - Repair broken screens, hard drives, CD-DVD Writer or water damage, which could cost more than replacing the entire system.

6th Too Slow - A slow system may require more memory. Adding memory is a popular upgrade that could cost less than $100.

7. Need for greater productivity - If the old system is slowing the work it is time to upgrade your computer. New software for word processing or image processing can be expensive. If the new system has pre-loaded software, it may be the best solution.

8. Reduced costs - computers are faster and cheaper than five years ago. If your system has more than five years, probably it will not be wise to pay for upgrading individual components, such as memory, hard disk and monitor.

9. Extraordinary maintenance - repair costs exceed the cost of a new computer, it's time to buy a new one.

10th "IT" Factor - If your job is very concerned about their image, it may not pay to be the one with the dull sound old when the new models have all the fancy new technology and look. It can improve your image , if you have new computer equipment.

HP Officejet 4500 Printer - Get the Info Before You Buy

HP Officejet 4500 printer is a great all in one printer, which saves time, because it can print, scan, fax and copy all in one machine. I remember faxing and scanning machines that were separate entities, and the boy they took up much space.

Now you can do all these tasks and copy multiple pages automatically, but not only that, the HP 4500 does not have to be in the same room as your computer or laptop.

If you choose to buy the wireless model, once installed, it can be placed anywhere in the home office without having to be connected with cables.

From now on, there is no reason to have separate printers for each of your desktops and laptops as the HP OfficeJet 4500 wireless can connect multiple PCs and laptops to the printer.

No need to clutter your work area around a wireless printer eliminates these hassles. Everyone at home can now print, fax or scan to a printer.

Cartridge

Finally someone came with a very good idea to have the same number for both cartridges. Now you just remember a number and ask either the ink color or black cartridge.

This now takes away the hassle of trying to remember two different numbers. One of the main things I always do with my all in one is sure I have backup tapes for when you run out of ink. There is nothing worse than running out of ink and then having to wait for replacements.

The HP 4500 is an excellent low-cost all-in-one printer

Save money now by having an all in one printer that will do all your printing for you. It's hard to be without this machine because of its cheap price.

Can be stored on energy mode and it will start, when the user sends a print command.

There is no reason to keep the HP Officejet 4500 all the time. This printer can save energy by switching on the power mode. The printer can then be kept on the power mode until it is needed and will wake up when he sent a print command.

Pros

Price, because this printer is an affordable all in one printer.

It has high speed and excellent print quality.

Saves time in a busy office, why not multitask, or print, scan, copy and fax from a printer.

Bad points

HP 4500 has no automatic printing on both sides.

It has no memory card slot.

Who would need the HP 4500.

People who are running a small business from home.

Someone who needs to print more than one desktop or laptop.

Someone who is looking for an efficient printer.

I think the good points of the HP 4500 far outweighs the bad points.

This printer with its ability to reduce costs and the discount will be a great asset to anyone running a small business or someone who needs a good all in one printer Officejet.

All You Need to Know About Internal Hard Drives

The data storage technology is evolving very rapidly. If you were to analyze the growth of storage capacity and data transfer speed in recent years, you would have realized that in reality it has quadrupled. On the other hand , prices are staying the same. Therefore, upgrading the internal hard drive has never been so easy and convenient. In addition, using a suitable enclosure, you can change the internal hard drive , without having to pay extra costs. Hard drive enclosures are pretty cheap, and offer many advantages, because you can add as many, to protect the hard drive and to simplify the communication process as a whole.

When you buy a new internal hard drive, there are three elements to keep in mind, so the best decision. First, check whether your motherboard has an IDE or SATA drive as the need to purchase the right order to be compatible with your system. Next, check your disk space ,Although the price of HDD storage capacity will increase proportionally, running the space that fits your budget would be great. Finally, control the speed of data transfer, because it is a big enough impact on the speed of your computer can use, and therefore the overall system performance.

Internal hard drives can be purchased from both your online store or a local brick and mortar store. Buy from an internal drive online store offers several advantages over going to the shop and buying it yourself. Read reviews from customers about the product without ever leaving home. On the other hand, the traditional trade may employ a professional sales representative to make the best choice of the system. Thus, although both options will be their own interests, this is a matter of personal preference.

Power Supply for Computer: Top 3 Essential Tips to Choosing the Right One

Power Supply for Computer: Top 3 Essential Tips to Choosing the Right One

The power supply for computer is the PC's main supplier of energy. It provides the right amount of power required to make the other components function properly, that's why you're able to use your computer with much ease.

The power supply unit (PSU) is undeniably the computer's most reliable component, but unfortunately, people often taken it for granted. Users are usually more preoccupied with upgrading their video cards and hard disks, but what they don't realize is that without the PSU, they wouldn't even be able to enjoy additional storage capacity and experience high-end gaming.

This is why it's highly important to select the right power supply unit so you can utilize your computer to its full potential. Consider these top three essential tips below to help you find the PSU that works well for your needs.

How to Choose the Right Power Supply for Computer

1. Identify Your Power Supply Needs. First and foremost, you have to identify exactly how you're going to use your computer in order to determine how much power you need. For instance, if your intention is to use it for extensive gaming, then you will need a unit with a capacity of at least 650 watts. But if you're only doing basic tasks for work or school, then a 350-400 watt unit will do.

2. Prioritize Quality. Be meticulous with the quality of the power supply unit that you're going to buy. Don't just pick one to get it over with-take the time to review and compare different brands and what they have to offer. Stay away from a cheap unit as well because it won't do you any good. In fact, it will even end up destroy your computer parts when it starts breaking down in the near future. So if you want to avoid potential damage to your PC, stick to a premium unit that gets a lot of positive reviews from its users.

You might also want to ask yourself the following questions when considering a product:

- How much is this PSU's life expectancy?
- What are its specific features and advantages?
- Is it compatible with my computer?
- What materials are used to create this product?
- Is it made by a good manufacturer?
- What makes this PSU stand out from the rest?
- Am I getting good value for my money?

These basic queries should help you select a quality power source that truly complements your computer. If you find yourself satisfied with the answers, then that product is most likely a good choice.

3. Go with a Reputable Brand. I cannot stress enough the significance of going with a trustworthy manufacturer. Remember, the power supply for computer is a critical component, so you must purchase from the best brands to ensure your PSU's quality and performance.

Yes, these reputable brands will always be more high-priced than lesser-known ones, but consider it as a good investment. Would you really prefer a cheap computer power box that only lasts for a 2-3 years over one that's a bit more expensive but gives you a much better, longer performance? In the end, you'll definitely be happier with the latter choice, so be particular about brands and purchase from a company that most users trust.

The PC gaming world will never fade away due to new innovations in technology and virtual interaction. With the advent of online multiplayer, gamers can compete or work together. Many famous titles offered on consoles originated on the PC. These games run smooth, fast, and with utmost quality on computers that meet recommended hardware requirements.

Without meeting these specifications, games will lag, graphics will suffer, and the overall gaming experience will be disappointing. Gaming hardware also adds value to any computer. The machine will be able to last the length of a gaming generation if not longer.

The first component that should be analyzed in your PC is the processor. Any processor that is below the Intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz or the AMD Athlon 64x2 2Ghz will not provide a solid gaming experience. In fact, the aforementioned processors are the minimum requirements for certain top-notch games. For the best gaming experience, PC games require a an Intel Core i5 3.1Ghz or the AMD Phenom II X6. These specifications are high, but certain games also have recommended settings. Any processor between the minimum and maximum requirements will suffice.

The next piece of hardware that every computer needs is the RAM. This little chip must be placed in every computer to ensure that games run smoothly. Minimum requirements for RAM are anywhere from 2GB to 3GB. For optimum settings, 4GB of ram is necessary. Typically, games will recommend at 3GB of memory for components in the game to run at moderate settings.

The graphics card is your bread and butter for PC gaming. For minimum requirements gamers will need at least an ATI 3850 512 mb or a NVidia 8800 GT 512mb. Optimum settings are of course much higher with cards such as the NVidia GTX 560 Ti and the ATI 6850. Without a decent graphics card, games will not run smoothly and will lag constantly. Gamers will have to adjust their display settings in-game to match their graphics card. This can be avoided by obtaining the recommended graphics requirements.

Gamers who play often should also consider purchasing an intercooler for their PC. This fan is necessary if the computer will be on for countless hours. Prices for intercoolers vary but they are crucial for PC games. Intercoolers will prevent the hardware in your computer from overheating when playing for an extended period of time. In the even that a PC overheats, the owner will have to fix costly components; this is avoidable and an intercooler the solution.

If you are looking for a memory upgrade for your PC or Laptop, visit Upgrade Central: http://www.upgradecentral.co.uk.

If its an external hard disk you need, they have a extensive range in their online shop from built in hard disks to portable USB's.

Review

This is the first desktop computer, I have owned, that is exactly what it says it is. My last computer took my son(with a masters degree in computer science) several hours to set up. I am a dinosaur (68 years old) when it comes to computers and I was able to set the Gateway One up in less than an hour. Most of the time was spent disconnecting my old computer. All I had to do was plug it in with the cords from my other computer and voila! it worked. I love the fact that it is all in one and I don't have to deal with that ugly tower thing, and I didn't have to ask a grandson to help me. So easy and it works perfectly.
The price was also a factor in choosing this computer, I priced it at several locations and found it online a couple of months ago running between $850-$1000.00. I found the best price was at Amazon. I am so proud of this old Grandma, I made a computer purchase on my own that worked out perfectly.

If you are thinking about all in one this is the one to get. Most of the other company just rush into making one to sell and left the small details out, one of which is the most important to me is the wall mount. After all this was design to save space and what space can you save if you cannot mount it on the wall? I bought an HP thinking it has this feature and NOT. They did not tell you that either.
Now for the speed and graghic, it is very good. I don't play games on my computer so I don't know if it is good enough for that, but for business use in this case in a dental office; with photos, and internet, normal office uses, you can not go wrong.

Review

This computer is amazing. Not only is it a sleek and sexy machine, but wow is it powerful! I upgraded from an older Macbook mainly because I wanted a Mac with a powerful video card for video editing, photo editing and even some gaming. So far this computer has handled everything I've thrown at it. It's fast, quiet and takes the imac to the next level. I was going back and forth between this and the cheaper versions and even the smaller screen. I'm glad I made the choice I did and got the 27".  They are powerful machines and works of art. No Windows based machine has the same lines as these beautiful machines. Apple has by far the best designers and engineers in the world.

The computer is much heavier than I expected, mainly because the aluminum case is solid. The great part is even though it is a heavy computer, it tilts with the push of a finger and stays exactly where you moved it. I've read complaints that this computer doesn't come in a matte screen. Sure the glossy screen does cause reflections in bright light, but so far I think the reflections are worth the trade off for the absolute dazzle the glossy screen provides.

The only negatives I can even list are that the computer runs hot. I did buy an app to monitor the temps and so far it's in line with my macbook. I think it just seems hotter because the aluminum disperses the heat through the top of the computer. When you touch the top of the computer you are amazed at the heat coming out. I also wish Apple supplied this computer with a wireless keyboard with the number pad. They do sell the corded version with the number pad, but I really wanted to stay wireless. I do miss the number pad, I'm not going to lie. Entering passwords is weird using the numbers on the regular keyboard! At some point I hope they offer a wireless keyboard with the number pad. The sound is also not overly amazing but I always use external speakers anyway so it's not a problem. It's a step up from the sound out of a macbook for sure, but it is aimed downward and not at you. The bass is decent though for built in sound if you don't want to add 2.1 speakers.

I can't end my review on a negative note though. The built in isight camera in HD is an awesome touch. I can't believe the quality of the camera to be honest. I look at myself on the screen and every imperfection of my face is captured.

I expect this computer to last me the next 5 years and I'm sure it will have no problem doing just that! I can't wait to see what accessories the Thunderbolt ports wind up supporting. I'd love to run and additional 2 27" screens at the same resolution using the ports eventually. Apple is usually way ahead of the curve so I have no doubt it is a technology that will catch on and will be amazing! There are many manufactures with products in the pipeline that will support Thunderbolt so I hope to see stuff hitting the market in the next few months.

You only live once, and life is short. You deserve the best, and this machine will not disappoint!!

I have been considering an Apple computer for a while now, and have been reluctant to buy because of the high price tag, compared to PCs with similar technical specs. For example, a Dell Inspiron All in One with 4GB SDD3 RAM, 500GB hard drive, 2.8Ghz processor, comparable graphics card and larger, brighter 23" screen retails for 599. For 1199, you can get the same Dell model with a touch screen, 1TB hard drive, 8GB RAM, 1GB video card, and a bunch of other stuff, running Windows 7. That's twice as much computer, right?

Maybe not. I went into a Best Buy store to play with a Mac, and spent almost two hours comparing this computer to the ones I just mentioned. I ended up buying the Mac, and am entirely convinced that it is well worth the price tag. First of all, even with less RAM, the Mac was faster and performed much better than a tech spec superior PC. It ran several memory draining and intensive applications, like video editing software, iTunes, and web browsers playing video SIMULTANEOUSLY without any noticeable lag. The programs all started up almost instantly, and everything just seemed to work. The PC that had 8 gigs of RAM could not perform all of those tasks at once without slowing down. Second, the Mac doesn't require a seperate anti-virus software purchase. It's supposed to be virtually unhackable, and you won't have like a dozen McAfee processes running in the background to slow your computer down. That peace of mind for internet security alone is worth the extra money to me.

One of my other reservations for buying a Mac was having to use a different operating system, and after years of running Windows, I didn't want to have to learn how to use a computer again. However, after playing with the Mac even for just a few minutes, I realized that it was very intuitive, and as easy to use as a PC. For example, when you want to print a document on a PC, you click the tab on the upper right hand corner, find "print" and click- same thing as on the Mac. All of the menus are pretty much identical for the word processors and internet browsers, and unless you're planning on writing or editing the DOS, there isn't much you'll have to adapt to.

Finally, the software that comes with this thing is AWESOME. The photo/video software is amazingly useful, and I can't imagine anything out there that you can buy that is as good as this stock software. There is music editing, and a bunch of other stuff that is just as good as the photo software, and while I haven't had the opportunity to really try everything out yet, I don't think I will be disappointed with any of it. To top it off, everyone raves about the customer support you get when you get an apple product. I hope I'll never have to use it, but it helps to know that Apple stands behind their products. Bottom line is, I'm really happy with my purchase.

This Gaming Rig is a MONSTER. The detail in the game are the best i have seen. I play World of Warcraft. the frame rate is great , details in the game are set on ultra and I am running everything smoothly and without lag. Although it is a  good rig ,  it is not really worth the price as cheaper ones can be set up with around the same specs.
